Online roles of LMS system
- Parent
- Does not have the rights to the course at all
- must see the course through their child
- can only see what their child can see
- using email or texting can communicate with the teacher, LMD admin or Instructional Admin.
- Student
- the person taking the course and earning the credit. Their scope is limited to their personal information and progress for their courses
- They an communicate iwth the teacher and any subgroups such as discussions that have been set up for them.
- They cannot change course content or create new areas.
- Teacher
- the person facilitating the course. Their scope is limited to the students in their classes and the student records.
- They can create some new course content, set up discussions.
- Design both synchronous and asyncronous communication.
- They can change the content of the course for their section.
- LMS Admin
- The person running the program for the teachers and students. Their scope is limited to what the teacher and the students can see.
- They can do everything a student and teacher can do as well as see records such as % of time student snd teachers have logged in, adding both synchronous nad asychronous communcation.
- They cannot create accounts, or change the content of the course.
- Content Admin
- They are in charge of course creation.
- They can change the content of the course for all sections
- They can do everything a LMS admin can do.
- Instructional Administration
- determines the policies for all teachers
- Can do everything an LMS admin can do over a group of course or the whole LMS
